You are missed

The land beneath our feet holds a beautiful and complex food web full of decomposing and regenerating microorganisms. With a healthy soil, all of life is sustained through the growth and decay of natural cycles. The soil is alive. However, with constant interference and unsustainable practices the integrity of our precious soil is at risk as well as all the plants and animals that depend upon this earth, including ourselves. With my paintings I create visual examples of the key components in our soil so as to recognize their significance and beauty while contemplating the devastation of their potential loss. Earth beneath my feet; you are missed.
